Easy turns in flatlight

Couple easy turns in flatlight. Just lots of fun now that there is a bit more snow again. And again a lot more inspiration to think about the shapes after couple rather quiet years in shaping...

I decided to try out pressing a skate deck. Goal is to press a dropthrough longboard later this summer.
For the skate I used 4sheets of birch and 3sheets of maple and pu glue. I pressed all at once and seemed to get rather good outcome. Lets see how long it will last...

Easy turns and air in April

We had a nice dump early April when the local skiresort was already closed. I took the advantage and had couple easy turns and a change to hit the backside corner from the park. Such a good fun!

Slope is not that steep so it was rather hard to get speed, but good times anyway!

Here's a small air from the backside hip of the snowpark.

More easy turns...

Same cut, different 3dshape

Couple new boards with same shape (tails differ though) but with different 3d shape. One has  gullwing, the other one has double gullwing, third one channels.

Just experimenting....

Fin, not a channel

Decided to try a new shape that should be ”softer” in turns and not hold edge that well.

I’ll have couple other ideas as well to try, one of which is just reshaping the channels a bit...

Laminate in base

This one has industrial laminate as a base. Also the shape can be seen here quite nicely. I have no idea how fast the base is, or what kind of snow it is suitable, if any.
EDIT: material seems to be really slippery and actually takes in some wax as well. I have no idea what it really is, but works surprisingly well. It is not as porous as p-tex and but since I'm not riding hardpacked, the wax seems to stay.

Boots for powsurfing

Deeluxe built a first boot dedicated to powsurfing. I guess the market is big enough, and quite likely still growing.
Check deeluxe website.

This is really good news since the boots have been one of the problems. Traditional snowboardboots are way too stiff, and hikingboots typically too cold, and with too stiff sole.
